Paramount has revealed the official plot synopsis of the upcoming Thor movie:

Plot:
"Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, 'Thor', which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth."

They'd don't tell anything really new in that plot... Anyway new plot details of Thor will get leaked online sooner or later!

The cast of the movie Thor is finally being rounded. It has been announced that Chris Hemsworth, who played George Kirk, father of James T Kirk in the last Star Trek movie, will be Thor and that Tom Hiddleston will play the role of Loki, Thor's Brother and nemesis.

The word is that Director Kenneth Branagh did not chose A-list actor, because he wants moviegoers to judge the film for its own merit and not because of unwarranted hype and expectations attached to big names.

The casting for the movie Thor is under way. And the casting call notice for Thor has leaked online:

"Male MUST BE MID-LATE 20'S and SIX FEET OR TALLER. LEAD.
Physically powerful, very handsome, occasionally egotistical, petulant, and wild. A natural warrior with a quick charming wit who must be genuinely and severely humbled before becoming the compassionate, mature her of our film."

I doubt I could handle Thor's hammer, so being cast as Thor in the movie would be just wishful thinking of fanboy for me.

Well those representations of Thor may seem kind of naive nowadays. But we can be sure the Thor movie director Kenneth Branagh and screenwriter Mark Protosevich are working on is going to be much more up to date, in the wake of superhero movies like Spiderman, the Incredible Hulk, or the Dark Knight.

The Mighty Thor and his hammer will command Thunder in your theaters soon!

Hollywood had adapted many stories of Marvel superheroes in the last few years. But till then one was definitely missing: The Mighty Thor.

Seems like the son of Odin, the Norse warrior, is going to have his own movie quite soon.

Indeed screenwriter Mark Protosevich has been writing a script for a live-action Thor film. According to him: "It's going to be like a superhero origin story, but not one about a human gaining super powers, but of a God realizing his true potential. [...] It will be mythic, but also bear the unmistakable qualities of a Marvel movie, an epic fantasy adventure."

The movie will be directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Filming should start in late 2009. For now director Kenneth Branagh and screenwriter Mark Protosevich are streamlining the initial Thor script in order to bring down the budget from a first astronomic $300 million to a more manageable $150 million.

Here what has leaked from the plot:
"Partially disabled medical student Dr. Donald Blake discovers his heretofore unknown alter ego, the Norse warrior, Thor." (Source: IMDb)

I'm glad they adapt this Marvel comics superhero. I hope they will stick enough to the orginal story of the mighty Thor.
